Laughter......

Today Aubrey laughed out loud.....it was so quick and I think he may have surprised himself that he did it. I know there are more to come so we will wait patiently for our next giggle. I can't wait until he does it for Jody. :-) I had to remember the day with a short blog.

Congrats to our FAVORITE RUNNERS!

On Sunday, the family was able to head downtown to see our two of favorite people carry out an exciting goal. Both Grandpa Jim and my BFF Jen, ran in the Houston Marathon on Sunday! It was my dad's 40th marathon, so congrats to him...what a great achievement and it was Jen's very first marathon. We were super excited to watch them head towards the finish at the final mile. We congratulate them both on a great finish!!!

Photo Update

Aubrey is 2 months and weighs in at 10lbs, 11oz and is 22 1/4 inches long. He falls into the 25% for both weight/length.

Here are after and before pictures of Aubrey's adorable feet.

AFTER CASTING (2 MONTHS)!

BEFORE CASTING (11 DAYS OLD)

Here is Aubrey in his new shoes. He seems to be getting used to them and can move his feet well. We are still hoping that his sleep becomes less affected by them....we continue to have nights where he is waking up every hour or two.

New Shoes.

HI Friends, I just wanted to update everyone quickly on Aubrey's appointment on Tuesday. At Texas Children's he got a great report on how well he has recovered from his surgery and how AWESOME his feet look. I will post before/after pictures soon. It's just amazing the change. So, then we went off to get him fitted for the new "shoes" he has to wear....and by that point in the day, he was ready for a nap and bottle (which is refused to take.....because he was so tired). So, he screamed through the shoe fitting and had a really difficult time sleeping and eating that night. We basically were up every hour or so. But we've noticed improvement in how he tolerates them already and he slept a little better last night. He's learned to move his feet better which helps his mood. Thank goodness!!! We also are getting some help from Grandma Jacki which is much appreciated and Grandma Debbie went with us to our 2 month checkup. Aubrey did great there and did suprisingly well with his shots. I think that with all of these prior doctors appointments, the shots were not the big of a deal. :-) I will post pictures soon of his feet and shoes. We continue to be thankful at how well he's responded to treatments and the help Texas Children's has offered us.

2 MONTHS ALREADY......

Today Aubrey is officially 2 months old! I can't believe it. He's changed and grown so much. Next week will be a busy week for us. He'll be exicted, as any boy would, that on Monday we are getting our HD for our new television that his dad picked out. Woo-hoo!!! Then on Tuesday it's off to Texas Children's and Dynamic Orthotics. First he'll have his last set of casts removed and be evaluated by Autumn. The tenotomy went well the week before Christmas and he seemed to recover fairly quickly with a little help from infant tylenol. We are really excited that he'll be finished with the casts next week. Then we get him fitted for his new fancy shoes!! We were lucky to see a two year old at TCH several weeks ago, who had been through the same process as Aubrey. He was walking like any other little one and the best part was he was SO proud of his shoes with the bar. My mom and I got a kick out of how he held them and looked at us like, "yep, these are MY shoes." It was really neat. On Wednesday, we head to the peditrician for his first set of shots (YIKES) and his two month check up.

Even though I fussed most of the first half, I'm super excited the Longhorns beat the Buckeyes!

I love to look around when I'm being carried and can hold my head up for longer periods of time.

I still smile and coo when I've been fed and I'm not tired. I move my hands alot and kick my legs up, even though they have big casts on them! I'm super strong!!!
