I can't believe Aubrey is 6 months old today! What a change from Nov. 7th to May 7th he's made. Tomorrow he goes for his 6month check up and of course, the dreaded shots! The last set he got caused a fever, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that he won't get one again. Let's see.....what new skills should we mention. He's working on sitting up and can do it for a few moments without support. He certainly pulls up when I go to lay him on his back sometimes, like he'd rather be sitting up. He is rolling over in all directions and likes to play on the floor. He can roll over with or without his corrective shoes. We have a doctor's appointment at Texas Children's on May 19th and we're hoping we get the ok to only wear his shoes at night, but we'll see.
Aubrey is super smiley and we think he's pretty easy going. He's shown some "stranger anxiety" but doesn't have it all the time. Every once in awhile in a new environment that bottom lip will curl up.....like he's about to cry but usually with some encouragement he gets along just fine. He enjoys jumping and playing in his exersaucer and he's great at laughing. He's making a few sounds that are mostly vowel sounds with some consonants thrown in there. He smiles for music he likes and still loves to put everything in his mouth. He's continuing to eat more Stage 1 baby foods, fruits and vegetables. He's also sleeping better through the night and has no more bottles at night! Woo-hoo! Most of the time he's asleep by 8:30 and up at about 7:30.
Oh and by the way, I started writing this post on Tuesday, May 5th, so I thought when I published it and posted it would be today, May 7th.....not sure why it didn't do that or how to change it....oh well.....I am still figuring out this blog thing!
This is how I like to watch American Idol.....Adam L. can really hit some high notes!
